About Me

Hi, I’m Sam, a student developer building practical, user-first software tools. My current focus is Sort IT, a search-based tech support platform designed to make real solutions easier to find and trust. I care deeply about clarity, integrity, and building things that genuinely solve problems rather than just looking impressive.

I started building this project after noticing a growing gap between the technology people use every day and the understanding they actually have of it. Finding answers to even simple problems often meant digging through long forum threads, outdated solution pages, or questionable advice, usually without confidence in the source.

Despite balancing school alongside this project, I kept developing Sort IT over time and eventually brought it to life. The goal was simple: create something clean, intuitive, and genuinely helpful; a platform that respects users’ time and gives them clear, trustworthy answers without unnecessary friction.

Much of today’s tech support feels clunky and inefficient: ten-minute YouTube videos, endless comment threads, or poorly structured help pages. I wanted to build an alternative. One that operates smoothly, looks considered, and fosters a culture of confidence and progress when solving everyday technological problems.

Throughout the design and development process, the user was always the priority. From reducing visual clutter to improving search clarity and surfacing relevant solutions quickly. While the site may not showcase the most experimental designs or the most complex code, it solves the problem I set out to address in a focused, user-centred way.

Although this project is only just beginning publicly, I already have a clear vision for how it could grow with deeper functionality, richer community involvement, and even more useful features added over time. Building a platform like this as a solo developer requires constant trade-offs and long-term thinking, but that challenge is part of what makes it rewarding.

Sort IT would not exist without its community both those using the platform and those contributing to it.
